Ultra-Black Coatings
Ultra-black dCNT coating
Carbon Clad™
Carbon Clad™ is an ultra-matte black discrete carbon nanotube coating engineered to deliver CVD-like low reflectance in a practical water-based paint format. It forms a deep black, highly light-absorbing surface on metals, plastics, ceramics, and composites for stray-light suppression in baffles, sensor housings, scientific instruments, electronics hardware, terrestrial optical assemblies, and aerospace hardware where atomic oxygen exposure is not the primary design constraint.

Usage Guide
Processing
- Clean substrates with mild detergent or IPA/ethanol; optional light abrasion can improve adhesion on polished metals.
- Apply by HVLP spray or brush after shaking and straining through a 190-mesh filter.
- Cure at 60 C for one hour or ambient dry for 24 hours.
Qualification
- Positioned for applications where atomic oxygen exposure is not a primary design constraint.
- Coating performance depends on substrate, preparation, thickness, and application quality.
